It extends more than enough to fit over even my big head, and long play sessions were incredibly comfortable throughout. The ear cups are nice and soft, with enough room so not to feel as though the ears are being caged in, while the headband has a nice, soft lining. The first thing that struck me when putting them on is just how comfortable they are. The low entry point and more modest appearance belies the solid build and audio quality and really, if you’re after a new set and are not too fussed about some of the bells and whistles other sets have, these will more than fit the bill. While they’ve all been excellent, the Snowwolf from SADES has crept up as one of my favourites – despite costing a fraction of the price. With their own software the headset is a 3 star one at best but with Razer surround it's easily a 4 or 5 star product.I’ve been fortunate enough to get to review a few sets of headphones now. Easy to install and works brilliantly once setup. You can get it as a free download from (look up surround). Far better than the manufacturers own in my opinion and definitely a better sound quality when tested against the manufacturers own. Afterwards wish I hadn't bothered anyway as once I got it working it is fiddly to say the least and needs to be activated each time the system is restarted with a minimum of options.įortunately I have the Razer connectivity suite software (Razer Surround in this case) which came with my firefly and that can enable full surround sound on the headset without issue. Also says you need to use a particular one depending on the model of the headset but the label they indicate does not exist (at least on my one). Will not install on Win 10 from CD (incompatible version - checked all folders and none work correctly) The software download from the manufacturers website (when you figure out the Chinese website) was very slow (definitely throttling connections). The software that comes with it is terrible at best. You will need software to enable the 7.1 surround features (stereo only by default) and that's where the headset doesn't get 5 stars unfortunately. Connects using USB socket to machine and stereo works without any additional work needed (tested on USB 2 an 3 ports, both fine). Comfy fit with adjustable headband (no isues with very extended use over a 4 day long weekend at Insomnia). Microphone arm is rigid but well positioned so no issues. Bought for going to a LAN party, as couldn't take surround sound setup there so didn't want to spend a fortune on something that would rarely be used. A great cheap 7.1 headset (Razer's cheapest were coming in at 4x the price unfortunately).
